Hello, everyone! I’m Ajay Krishnan, and I’m thrilled to begin my internship at iDEIntity. This opportunity represents a significant step in my journey towards understanding my passions, setting future goals, and making a meaningful impact in the world. Before I delve into my aspirations for growing during the internship, allow me to introduce myself and share the skills and experiences I plan to bring to iDEIntity.
I come from the bustling borough of Queens in New York City, a place known for its unmatched diversity and culture. I’m currently a sophomore at New Explorations into Science Technology and Math High School (NEST+M). My high school experience has not only broadened my academic horizons but also offered me various opportunities to engage in enriching extracurricular activities.
Some of these activities include being an active member of the math, robotics, and varsity tennis teams. I’m also proud to serve as the Sophomore class representative on the student government, where I represent my peers and contribute to the betterment of our school community. Outside of school, I’ve been part of NYU’s College and Career Lab Program since 2020,where I’ve explored different career paths and developed valuable skills. Recently, I also joined The Fellowship Initiative by JPMorgan.
My post-high school aspirations involve gaining admission to one of my dream schools, including Harvard, Columbia, or NYU. Ultimately, post-college, I aspire to lead my own company, utilizing the skills and knowledge acquired during my time at iDEIntity to make a profound impact in a field of my choosing. In my free time, I also enjoy exploring classic literature, as well as playing basketball.
My motivation for seeking this internship stems from two primary reasons. First, I wanted early exposure to a real-world professional environment preparing me to face future challenges confidently. Second, I aimed to learn more about myself as an individual, understand my strengths, and determine how I can contribute to the success of this company(and one day to the success of my own). As someone without prior professional experience, I view each internship assignment as an opportunity to unveil new facets of my skill set, ensuring my future impact in professional settings is significant.
Coming from the most diverse city on the planet, I’ve interacted with people from various backgrounds, experiences, and walks of life. However, I’ve noticed that professional environments often fail to reflect this level of diversity. The combating of this discrepancy from iDEIntity piqued my interest, and encouraged me to contribute to an organization deeply committed to addressing this issue through promoting diversity, equity, and inclusivity in the workplace.
